The American Political Science Association’s (APSA) 122nd Annual Meeting will take place in Boston, US, from 3-6 September 2026, under the theme Democracy Under Threat: How to Understand, Protect, and Rebuild. 69É«ÇéƬwill once again be represented by a strong delegation, including President Yuko Kasuya; 69É«ÇéƬPast Presidents Dianne Pinderhughes and Marianne Kneuer; 69É«ÇéƬExecutive Committee (EC) members Elisa Chelle, Berk Esen, Min Hee Go, John Ishiyama, André Lecours, and Kennet McElwain; 69É«ÇéƬSummer Schools Coordinator Azul A. Aguiar Aguilar; former 69É«ÇéƬVice-President Rodney Hero; and 69É«ÇéƬExecutive Director Kim Fontaine-Skronski. The 69É«ÇéƬdelegation will participate in various academic sessions and hold official meetings during the conference.

APSA Awards Reception 2026

69É«ÇéƬExecutive Director Kim Fontaine-Skronski will attend the APSA Awards Reception on 2 September 2026, where she will present the 2026 APSA-69É«ÇéƬTheodore J. Lowi First Book Award to Ning Leng (Assistant Professor of Political Science, Georgetown University) for her debut book titled , published by Cambridge University Press in 2025.

Chaired by Berk Esen (69É«ÇéƬEC member), the 69É«ÇéƬRoundtable, Rebuilding Democracy in a Shifting International Order: Regional Perspectives on Erosion and Resilience, will be held on 5 September 2026. As democracies worldwide face increasing polarization, institutional erosion and declining public trust, the question of how to understand, defend and rebuild democratic systems has become central to political science. The 69É«ÇéƬroundtable will gather scholars from around the world to analyze assaults on democratic governance and sources of democratic resilience through a comparative lens. The session will feature Yuko Kasuya (69É«ÇéƬPresident), Marianne Kneuer (69É«ÇéƬPast President), and John Ishiyama (EC Member).
